GDAR: Global Diet and Activity Research Network

Through a research focus on how physical, policy and social environments influence diet and physical activity, the Global Diet and Activity Research Network (GDAR) is working to help prevent non-communicable diseases such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and cancers, in low and middle income countries.

The GDAR Network is funded through the NIHR Global Health Research initiative. It is a collaboration of researchers from seven universities in six countries on three continents: Cameroon, the Caribbean, Kenya, South Africa and the UK. We are also developing collaborations with researchers in Brazil, Haiti, Nigeria and South Asia.
