Transforming UK Food Systems Annual Conference 2026

About the conference

Join us for the 2026 Annual Conference of the UKRI Transforming UK Food Systems Programme, a two-day gathering of researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and stakeholders committed to shaping a healthier, more sustainable, and equitable food future.

Building on the momentum of last year’s meeting, which explored the “politics of possibility,” #TUKFS26 will continue to challenge assumptions, foster collaboration, and showcase the very best research from the TUKFS programme.

The conference is only open to research teams and PhD students funded by the BBSRC TUKFS programme, and their research partners. If you are unsure whether you are eligible to attend, please contact us via TUKFS26@mrc-epid.cam.ac.uk.

Call for abstracts

  • We are now accepting submissions of late-breaking abstracts for posters for the Transforming UK Food Systems Annual Conference 2026. Posters should showcase the very best new research from the TUKFS programme. Please do not submit an abstract for research that has been presented at a previous TUKFS conference. However, you may submit abstracts of research that has already been presented elsewhere.

  • The deadline for submission of late-breaking posters is Thursday 12 February at 23:59hr. We will inform those who submit abstracts by 19th February at the latest.

  • Please read our abstract submission guidelines (Note: please follow the guidance on this page for “Oral and poster sessions: individual papers”). Submit your poster abstracts via the button below.

  • Note: We will not be peer reviewing late breaking poster abstracts, but they will be checked for suitability and completeness.
