Promo Bans Study - Information for participants

Promo Bans study: Information for Participants

What is this study about?

  • We are learning about special offers on foods like crisps and chocolate in supermarkets (like “buy one get one free”).

  • We want to know how people like you use special offers, and what happens when supermarkets stop doing these offers.

What will I do?

  • Take part in a video interview on Microsoft Teams.

  • It will last 30–60 minutes.

  • We will ask you about your shopping and how you use special offers.

What do I get?

  • A £25 supermarket voucher.

  • You can choose Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, or ASDA.

Do I have to take part?

  • No. It’s your choice.

  • You can stop at any time, with no reason needed.

  • You don’t have to answer any question you don’t want to.

What happens to my answers?

  • The interview will be recorded.

  • Only the research team will have access to your interview recording.

  • Other people will read what you say, but your name and details will be kept private to everyone else.

  • Your answers will help the government make better decisions about supermarket food offers.
