Promo Bans study: Information for Participants
What is this study about?
We are learning about special offers on foods like crisps and chocolate in supermarkets (like “buy one get one free”).
We want to know how people like you use special offers, and what happens when supermarkets stop doing these offers.
What will I do?
Take part in a video interview on Microsoft Teams.
It will last 30–60 minutes.
We will ask you about your shopping and how you use special offers.
What do I get?
A £25 supermarket voucher.
You can choose Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, or ASDA.
Do I have to take part?
No. It’s your choice.
You can stop at any time, with no reason needed.
You don’t have to answer any question you don’t want to.
What happens to my answers?
The interview will be recorded.
Only the research team will have access to your interview recording.
Other people will read what you say, but your name and details will be kept private to everyone else.
Your answers will help the government make better decisions about supermarket food offers.
